What is your policy on missed or cancelled appointments?
We require as much notice as possible when you need to cancel or reschedule your booking. If you miss your appointment, you may be charged a no-show fee at your next visit.
Are you an emergency veterinary service?
If you think your pet requires emergency care, please call us immediately on (03) 83794498 and our skilled client care team will triage your pet’s needs. While we are not a 24-hour clinic, if your pet requires care outside of operating hours, please give us a call our answering machine will forward you to the necessary 24-hour partner.
If you require emergency assistance outside of our operating hours, please contact your nearest 24/7 emergency vet clinic or vet helpline.

We are open every day except Sundays and public holidays. Our opening hours are:

What services does LDHVH offer?
The Lost Dogs' Home Vet Hospital is a general practice hospital which has a wide array of skilled veterinarians who are able to perform emergency and medical consultations, routine surgery, basic and advanced orthopaedic surgeries, and diagnostic procedures including blood tests, x-rays and lump removals. We also offer behaviour consultations, second opinions and advanced case management.
Does LDHVH offer payment plans?
The Lost Dogs Home Vet Hospital does not offer private payment plans. All accounts are expected to be settled on the day of your pet’s visit. We do however offer external payment methods including afterpay, vetpay and NILS.
What do I do if my pet is sick?
If your pet is sick, please call to speak to our team, or book an appointment online. If your pet is urgently unwell out of hours, please go to your nearest emergency vet clinic for immediate support.
Do you accept pet insurance?
Yes, we do accept pet insurance from all providers.
Are you a Gaponly clinic?
Yes, our clinic is a Gaponly clinic.
Do I need to make an appointment to have my pet seen at LDHVH?
The Lost Dogs' Home Vet Hospital runs by appointment for routine visits, however, we will always do our best to see emergency appointments during the day.

My cat is very timid/My dog is reactive; will you still be able to see them?
Yes, we are a Stress-Free certified clinic, so we practice low-stress handling methods and are very experienced in seeing timid and reactive pets. If your pet is timid or reactive our vets may prescribe some medication prior to your appointment to help your pet feel a bit more comfortable attending their appointment.
Do you offer behavioural consultations?
Yes, we offer behavioural consultations with Dr. Nicole and Dr. Leonie who both have a special interest in behaviour.
How does attending LDHVH help LDH?
The proceeds we make at the hospital go directly to pay for the veterinary care we provide in both North Melbourne and Cranbourne shelters.
